The Teichert Wedding

My cousin, Michelle, married Greg a week and a half ago in the Washington, D.C. Temple. It was a lovely day. Congratulations to a beautiful couple and best wishes for an eternity of joy!

Wow- picture perfect weather at the Temple! I love the ones of the happy couple and the whole clan is wonderful too. I hope you are happy with them- even tho it is not your favorite occupation.

Mom- Yes, I am pleased with them. It was really fun to process them, although the day of shooting is always nerve-wracking. It all served to highlight the limitations of my equipment and software, not to mention my creativity being a little rusty. Yet another reminder that this is not my current profession. But I enjoyed being there and was very happy to do it for Michelle. They really are a beautiful couple and they were so happy!

You captured Greg & Michelle's happiness so well! A wonderful remembrance of that beautiful moment. I also liked your county fair photos. You are a great photographer. I keep learning just by examining your photos.

Your poem reminded me of a favorite from Edna St. Vincent Milley:

My heart being hungry feeds on food
The fat of heart despise.
Beauty where beauty never stood,
And sweet where no sweet lies.
I gather to my querulous need,
Having a growing heart to feed.

It may be when my heart is dull
Having attained its girth,
I shall not find so beautiful
The meager shapes of earth,
Nor linger in the rain to mark
The smell of tansy through the dark.

I had learned it many years ago, but the words came to mind in Africa and I was grateful I still find the meager shapes of earth so beautiful.
