Suburban County Fair

Last weekend was the Arlington County Fair. Now, Arlington is one of the counties closest to Washington, D.C. There are no real farms, hardly a meadow to be seen, but there are plenty of suburban folks just itching to go to the fair. So they set it up- Ferris wheel and pony rides and all- at the Middle School. It was great. Not too much, yet enough to thrill 4 young kids. My amazing sister won three ribbons in the baking competition so there was even something to enjoy inside as well.

We spent about two hours there last Thursday night, and a good time was had by nearly all of us.

("Egads," exclaimed the fancy horse, "What is the carousel coming to? Dagger-wielding medieval dinosaurs?!" )

Lovely. A very different sort of county fair from Cache County. Maybe sometime you'll have to schedule a trip in August so the kids can get manure all over their shoes! :)

Mom: Q dislikes the chaos and having to pull T off the rides when they're over. Otherwise, all enjoyed themselves.
Emma: that sounds more like what we're used to in VT!
